The Shoalbuster “Barney” is with her draft of only 1.80m and space for 12 persons a special workboat in our fleet. This tug is particularly suitable for 24-hour tugging operations or projects in ultra shallow waters.

Shoalbuster Barney
Shoalbuster Barney is a unique addition to the Herman Senior fleet. She is a larger vessel with a spacious accommodation suitable for 12 persons in total and a fixed 4-point mooring system installed on board. With a bollard pull of 30 tonnes and a draft of only 1,80 meter, she can work on ultra-shallow waters! Bureau Veritas classes the vessel with an unrestricted navigation classification, this in combination with her large bunker capacity she is very suited for longer worldwide towages as well.
What makes Barney so unique:
- With a bollard pull of approx. 30 tonne at only 1,80 m draft this vessel is perfect for the shallow waters.
- With her large accommodation, available on the vessel Barney can accommodate up to 12 persons.
- The vessel has a 4-point mooring system available, in combination with her spacious accommodation and work deck she is very suitable for diving operations.
- The vessel is certified with an anchor handling notation; this means Barney will comply with the latest regulations regarding safe work in Anchor handling.
- The vessel is equipped with a moon pool for survey purposes. This in combination with her spacious accommodation and low fuel consumption makes her very suitable and cost-effective for 24-hour survey operations.
- Barney can be used as a pull pontoon up to 50 tonnes!
